It’s all about “keeping the lights on, the water flowing and the wheels turning,” says Donald Tait, CFG Manager, since this team was created in March 2020.
Particularly intense times for this group composed of: Rodrigo Alvarado, Project Engineer; Francisco Cisterna, Contract Supervisor; Verónica Gareca, Administration Assistant (Management Control); Francisco Herrera, Administration Assistant (Management Control); and Alfredo Krain, Contract Supervisor.

But what do they do?
– Guarantee that the camp has water.
– Ensuring that roads and vehicles are safe for the movement of employees around the site.
– Supplying fuel for turbines, vehicles and machinery.
– Keeping the oxygen tank full at the AOS so our colleagues can work safely.
– “And, lastly, we make sure someone empties the trash. We don’t feed the cat,” clarifies Donald.
After these first two years, what does the future look like for the CFG team?
“We are prepared. All the different situations and stages we went through taught us how to manage the service even during a crisis like the global pandemic. This strengthened us as a team and now we are able to face the challenges with experience, with better programming and with the ability to adapt quickly to changes,” says Alfredo Krain, Contract Supervisor.
Open space
A few days ago this team finished dismantling the former contractor’s camp that was sold to an external company, colloquially known as “El Gitano”.
This is an area of at least 30,000 meters2, where there were about 30 buildings that between 2003 and 2012 served as accommodation for about 200 people.
Before
After
“In times of pandemic we had to call in a lot of favors from our colleagues to support us, and request flexibility from our contractors to keep the work going. Many, many thanks to all the people who were ‘honorary CFG members’ during these past two years.”
