At ALMA, we do groundbreaking science every day, but its true value is multiplied when we share it. That’s why, as part of Astronomy Day in Chile, we will once again open our doors to the community with a new edition of ALMA Open House 2026 on Friday, March 20, at our offices in Santiago, in collaboration with ESO, NRAO/AUI, and NAOJ.

This event is a unique opportunity for children, young people and adults to learn who we are, what we do, and why our work is so important to global astronomy. To make this possible, we need the commitment and energy of our volunteers.

Being part of the volunteer team means accompanying visitors, guiding tours, supporting interactive activities, and becoming a bridge between ALMA and the community. It is an enriching, intimate, and very meaningful experience, both for those who visit us and for those who participate from within.

If you are motivated to share what we do, inspire new generations, and experience ALMA from a different perspective, we invite you to sign up as a volunteer for Open House 2026 by sending an email with the subject line “ESO ALMA Open House” to [email protected] or [email protected].

We are counting on you to continue bringing ALMA closer to everyone!
