It is not only about money, but about an integral commitment that each colleague assumes with excellence.

This year, 11 employees received this benefit.

“My children see that mom and dad are studying and they know that there is a will to succeed”

Jorge Cortés, Technician I (Medium Voltage Electrician) has just finished his studies of Higher Level Technician in Electricity and Industrial Electronics.

“At this time, any support is beneficial for those of us who are parents. I have four children and in my house we all study. The help is not only professional but also personal. One is updated in knowledge applicable in all areas of life.”

“It was a very intense two years. At 50 years of age and in the middle of the pandemic, it was a challenge to make the time compatible. But the study allowed me to update myself about new technologies and standards, as well as to learn about other fields where knowledge is applied.”

“The ALMA culture encourages continuing education. In my team that is evident”

Claudio Aranda is IMG Supervisor and is currently pursuing a certification in Data science and machine learning at MIT (online).

“When I applied I was at the limit with the deadlines. But both my boss and Human Resources urged me to do it. And that’s because ALMA supports the professional development process.”

“It’s an interest that is in me and that for many years was pending, since in mining it was impossible for me. Part of my decision to ‘change industry’ and come to the observatory had to do with this. Since I have been at ALMA (more than five years ago), I have already completed a master’s degree, an MBA, three diplomas and a couple of courses.”

“I feel that life is a learning journey from start to finish, both personally and professionally”

Danilo Vidal is a Public Relations Officer studying Public Relations.

“I firmly believe that experience is the best teacher, but there are a lot of “hick ups”. When you can save them through formal training, in a guided, accompanied and structured process, you manage to learn with levels of detail that in the experience usually go unnoticed.”

“From the economic point of view, the expense is always something to consider, so receiving this support is a relief that allows you to concentrate on the most important things. This is deeply appreciated and I hope to respond to the height.”
