Esta semana se cierra el plazo para responder la encuesta de Respeto, Diversidad e Inclusi\u00f3n (RD&I), una parte clave de nuestra hoja de ruta pues nos permitir\u00e1 conocer lo que cada uno piensa sobre estos temas. Como paso previo, realizamos charlas en el OSF y SCO, donde pudimos profundizar en algunas visiones entre quienes asistieron a ellas.<\/p>\n

Una conversaci\u00f3n necesaria para cualquier organizaci\u00f3n, pero a\u00fan m\u00e1s en la nuestra, pues se nutre constantemente desde diferentes pa\u00edses y latitudes. Por eso, para V\u00edctor Gonz\u00e1lez, Ingeniero Software y presidente del Sindicato 1<\/strong>, es sin\u00f3nimo de fortaleza. \u201cEn general la sociedad es diversa y al buscar profundizar el conocimiento humano, claramente el que sea representativa de la sociedad le va a permitir seguir avanzando de mejor forma\u201d.<\/p>\n

In that sense, “inclusion is the really hard bit,” says James Miley, Fellow de NAOJ<\/strong>, “you need to make sure you do it for everyone and to make sure that they feel that they can participate and feel included, but also that you are stretching out to them and making an active effort to include them. Elizabeth Humphreys, Jefa del Departamento de Operaciones Cient\u00edficas<\/strong>, quien desde un inicio ha sido la impulsora para que estos temas sean parte de la pol\u00edtica institucional de ALMA. \u201cEn la hoja de ruta estrat\u00e9gica para RD&I en JAO, esbozamos muchas recomendaciones y objetivos. Espero que se apliquen tantas como sea posible. Una recomendaci\u00f3n importante, que ahora se va a implementar, es que tendremos acceso por primera vez a un Ombuds. Un representante empleado por ALMA, que facilitar\u00e1 las preocupaciones de todas y todos en estos asuntos\u201d.<\/p>\n
