Cristian Navarro, Radio Technician I, fue reconocido con el prestigioso Curiosity Award 2024 por su dedicaci\u00f3n al prop\u00f3sito esencial de ALMA: la curiosidad. Con casi 14 a\u00f1os en el observatorio, Cristian tiene un rol clave en el mantenimiento de la infraestructura tecnol\u00f3gica que respalda las operaciones cient\u00edficas de ALMA. Radio Technician I<\/strong>, was recognized with the prestigious Curiosity Award 2024 for his dedication to ALMA’s essential purpose: curiosity. With almost 14 years at the observatory, Cristian plays a key role in maintaining the technological infrastructure that supports ALMA’s scientific operations.<\/p>\n

Una trayectoria marcada por la pasi\u00f3n<\/strong><\/p>\n

Desde su incorporaci\u00f3n a ALMA en 2011, despu\u00e9s de liderar proyectos de infraestructura TI, Cristian ha desempe\u00f1ado un rol esencial de supervisar sistemas de radio VHF, estaciones meteorol\u00f3gicas y torres de comunicaci\u00f3n de hasta 50 metros de altura. \"Tengo el privilegio de trabajar en lugares \u00fanicos, con vistas que pocos pueden experimentar\", comparte.<\/p>\n

Su curiosidad lo ha llevado a colaborar en proyectos desafiantes, como la habilitaci\u00f3n de una repetidora en Cerro Chajnantor junto al equipo del Telescopio TAO en Jap\u00f3n. Estas iniciativas no solo mejoran la cobertura de los sistemas de comunicaci\u00f3n, sino que tambi\u00e9n le permiten explorar nuevas tecnolog\u00edas y entornos.<\/p>\n

Inspiraci\u00f3n en el trabajo diario<\/strong><\/p>\n

Cada d\u00eda en ALMA es una aventura para Cristian. \"Trabajar con sistemas diversos y recorrer las instalaciones hace que mi labor sea emocionante\", explica. Tambi\u00e9n destaca la importancia de los postes SOS, fundamentales para la seguridad en las rutas hacia las antenas.<\/p>\n

Cristian cree que la curiosidad es esencial para el avance cient\u00edfico y el crecimiento personal. \"En ALMA tenemos el privilegio de trabajar en el radiotelescopio m\u00e1s grande del mundo, rodeados de profesionales de quienes siempre podemos aprender algo nuevo. Aprovechemos esta oportunidad para explorar y compartir conocimientos.\"<\/p>\n
