Un evento como este, causado por un frente fr\u00edo que gener\u00f3 vientos de hasta 100 km\/h, no se hab\u00eda visto a esta escala en m\u00e1s de 10 a\u00f1os.<\/p>\n

En respuesta a esta situaci\u00f3n, se activaron de inmediato los protocolos de emergencia establecidos por el equipo de seguridad, lo que incluy\u00f3 la suspensi\u00f3n del acceso al sitio, la activaci\u00f3n del \u00abmodo de supervivencia\u00bb de las antenas y la coordinaci\u00f3n constante con los equipos en tierra. Estas medidas fueron esenciales para prevenir incidentes graves y garantizar el bienestar del personal.<\/p>\n

As a result of this experience, ALMA is promoting a comprehensive review of the Chajnantor Working Group (CWG)<\/strong> protocols, reinforcing access restrictions, clarity in the responsibilities of each institution, and emergency preparedness. Adem\u00e1s de la gesti\u00f3n adecuada del evento, esta situaci\u00f3n representa una oportunidad para reforzar las buenas pr\u00e1cticas y recordar las recomendaciones fundamentales para la seguridad de todos los que operan en el altiplano de Chajnantor:<\/p>\n

Recomendaciones en caso de condiciones meteorol\u00f3gicas adversas:<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022\tUtilizar siempre el equipo adecuado:<\/strong> ropa t\u00e9rmica para condiciones meteorol\u00f3gicas extremas, ox\u00edgeno port\u00e1til y una radio de comunicaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n

\u2022\tRespetar los cierres de carreteras:<\/strong> el acceso al AOS debe permanecer bloqueado cuando as\u00ed lo indique el equipo de seguridad de ALMA. Solo se permite el acceso con la autorizaci\u00f3n formal del director.<\/p>\n

\u2022\tNo subestimar los riesgos:<\/strong> las condiciones meteorol\u00f3gicas a gran altitud pueden cambiar r\u00e1pidamente. Es fundamental actuar con precauci\u00f3n y buen juicio.<\/p>\n

\u2022\tEvite las decisiones precipitadas:<\/strong> la coordinaci\u00f3n del grupo siempre debe tener en cuenta las consecuencias para la seguridad de las personas.<\/p>\n

\u2022\tComunique siempre su ubicaci\u00f3n:<\/strong> informe a Seguridad cuando llegue y salga del sitio, idealmente manteniendo contacto regular por radio.<\/p>\n

\u2022\tCumpla con los protocolos del CWG:<\/strong> conozca y aplique los procedimientos establecidos, comprendiendo las consecuencias del incumplimiento.<\/p>\n

\u2022\tRefuerce la preparaci\u00f3n:<\/strong> participe en sesiones de entrenamiento conjuntas con otros equipos del CWG en respuesta a emergencias.<\/p>\n

ALMA will continue to work on reviewing and improving safety protocols together with the institutions that form part of the Chajnantor Working Group (CWG), to protect both the people and the scientific operations.
