ALMA’s Spa: our pool and sauna improvements

At the end of a day’s work at the OSF, there is nothing better than a dip in the pool.

An experience that will now be even better, given the improvements made to the structure by the Contract Facility Group (CFG) and Hospitality. They installed a PVC coating that will protect the walls and floor to prevent possible rust stains and leaks. In addition, the heat pump that heats the water was replaced.

All these changes can already be felt by those who use the facilities, such as Henry Tapia, our Mech and HVAC Tech, who recently started taking classes to improve his swimming technique and enhance his swimming performance.

“It’s a very useful franchise. You don’t depend on weather conditions to execute it and it also brings relaxation from daily chores, breaking the routine, relieving tensions and improving the quality of sleep”, assures Henry.

The installation of a counter-current swimming machine is the great novelty that adds to the improvements of the pool, allowing its users to exercise in a better way.

Something that José Corro, our PPS Operator, is sure to take advantage of. “Swimming is part of my life. The pool allows me to train in a safe environment and also allows me to be able to teach swimming or improve technique to ALMA staff. Several have already improved their stroke. Hopefully we can create a swimming branch and have more equipment to teach,” says José.
Next to the swimming pool is our sauna, which will have more spare parts for maintenance that will allow its permanent use.
Manuel Pérez, our Turbine Operator of the Power Generation Plant, will surely benefit from this: “I use the sauna at least twice a shift. With this I take advantage of the benefits it provides to the body, and it gives a good relaxation”.
This steam bath is known to help eliminate toxins and relieve muscle aches, which allows you to stay more active after use.

“I think it’s great that a sauna has been considered in the residence facility as many people use it. In addition, it complements the pool very well, using it as a recreational program,” Manuel concludes.
