Suedehead”, “Talking in your sleep”, “Kiss and tell”… hits that marked the 80’s pop, and that were played live outside our offices in Santiago, a week ago.
“The idea of our band is a tribute to the music of the 80’s, those songs that everyone knows them, but they don’t play in a pub. We wanted people to have these memories, and to transport them like the ‘Ratatouille’ effect,” says Victor Gomez, our manager of ALMA Travel, and of SCO’s Reception and General Services.
On April 25, we enjoyed an unprecedented concert at SCO, an idea that was born from Victor, after telling his boss, Cristian Puentes, that he had played with his band at a wedding, with great reception from the public. Cristian urged him to repeat the same thing in our Santiago office, seeking the support of our different departments.
“All these activities are more than welcome. They do us good, they help us to interact with colleagues we don’t see much, and to get to know each other better in another instance”, says Alicia Fredes, our ARA coordinator who together with Maryluz Jara, our General Services Supervisor, made the activity possible.
So, as the sun was setting in ESO’s parking lot, Victor and his band of friends began a show that, for a little over an hour, transported the audience back to the 80’s.
“I was surprised by Victor because I always saw him sitting there at the desk, but now he filled us with memories, from when he was 25, 30 years old. I was about to go out dancing!”, Ismael Pereira, our Handyman, told us enthusiastically.
Loreto Bradford, our Budget Controller, also enjoyed it: “This came about so spontaneously and with such a simple organization that it turned out to be the nicest thing ever. Besides, we got to know Victor in another dimension, and what beautiful music he makes!”, she said.
It was an evening of emotions, where everything was about opening our doors to our collaborators. “It is a dream to find a job where you can choose to do other things, share, collaborate, learn more about your work and others is invaluable. It is one of the tremendous pluses of this organization,” Victor concludes.
