Since March 17, thanks to Very Long Baseline Interferometry (VLBI), our antennas join every day or night an observing network with 10 other stations located in Europe, North America, Chile and the South Pole.<\/p>\n

And although this is not the first time ALMA has worked on this campaign together with EHT (Event Horizon Telescope) and GMVA (Global mm-VLBI Array), the conditions under which the mission is being carried out, due to the pandemic, present great challenges.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn the past, the VLBI campaign was conducted at the OSF. All the ALMA scientific team involved in these observations were in the same place, so we could evaluate situations together and solve them in the same way,\u201d<\/em>\u00a0says David Rebolledo, astronomer and ALMA VLBI Deputy Observations Coordinator.\u00a0<\/span>\u201cThis way of working limits us in case of an adverse situation, so we have had to anticipate possible problems.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Since last year, all coordination has been done remotely. Due to capacity, today there can only be one astronomer in the control room (in Santiago). This year, moreover, the work plan was defined less in advance than on previous occasions, which has put more pressure not only on the astronomers, but also on the engineering and software teams.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe organization is very dynamic, with a lot of interaction between us and the international teams,\u201d<\/em>\u00a0says Hugo Messias astronomer and ALMA VLBI Observations Coordinator.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\u201cThe most exciting part is already during the VLBI campaign, when we are deciding whether we will be able to observe at night or not. There is a lot of suspense in the air. And it\u2019s great to see that such a culturally diverse group can come together and create something at this level.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

El uso de Lorem Ipsum permite a los dise\u00f1adores reunir los dise\u00f1os y la forma del contenido antes de que el contenido se haya creado, dando al dise\u00f1o y al proceso de producci\u00f3n m\u00e1s libertad.<\/p>

Se cree ampliamente que la historia de Lorem Ipsum se origina con Cicer\u00f3n<\/a> en el siglo I aC y su texto De Finibus bonorum et malorum<\/i>. Esta obra filos\u00f3fica, tambi\u00e9n conocida como En los extremos del bien y del mal, se dividi\u00f3 en cinco libros. El Lorem Ipsum que conocemos hoy se deriva de partes del primer libro Liber Primus<\/i> y su discusi\u00f3n sobre el hedonismo, cuyas palabras hab\u00edan sido alteradas, a\u00f1adidas y eliminadas para convertirlas en un lat\u00edn sin sentido e impropio. No se sabe exactamente cu\u00e1ndo el texto recibi\u00f3 su forma tradicional actual. Sin embargo, las referencias a la frase \"Lorem Ipsum\" se pueden encontrar en la Edici\u00f3n de la Biblioteca Cl\u00e1sica Loeb de 1914 del De Finibus en las secciones 32 y 33. Fue en esta edici\u00f3n del De Finibus en la que H. Rackman tradujo el texto. El siguiente fragmento se selecciona de la secci\u00f3n 32:<\/p>
