Last November 17 and 18 was no exception. We were able to compete again in the Inter Observatory Olympics, a long-awaited event that had not been held since 2018, due to the social outbreak and the pandemic, but that this year finally took place in La Serena.[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][et_pb_row column_structure=”2_3,1_3″ _builder_version=”4.19.1″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}” theme_builder_area=”post_content”][et_pb_column type=”2_3″ _builder_version=”4.19.1″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}” theme_builder_area=”post_content”][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.19.1″ _module_preset=”default” text_text_color=”#000000″ text_orientation=”left” global_colors_info=”{}” theme_builder_area=”post_content”]The ALMA team was made up of 46 staff members and their families. We also had illustrious visitors, such as Carlos Rivera, former Maintenance Technician II<\/strong>, who, despite retiring in July, volunteered to support the team. The same day of the competition they knew that the second pair could not be formed due to personal problems, so Mauricio and Benjam\u00edn decided to join just a couple of hours before the first official match.<\/p>\n There they faced the Las Campanas team, who had been champions the last 2 Olympiads. Even so, they beat them, and advanced to the finals emboldened, beating ESO by a narrow margin. “The experience this year was spectacular, it always is. And my fellow ‘pooleros’ from ALMA, a seven.
