On 23 June we commemorated Women in Engineering Day<\/strong>, an important date for our observatory and for science, which seeks to highlight the valuable contribution of women in this field.<\/p>\n In this sense, Fabiola Norambuena, our Software Engineer Trainee<\/strong>, has been a source of inspiration for many young women to follow the path of engineering. That is why her testimony, in which she talked about her participation in the Melton Foundation, her university experience and her interest in astronomy, which led her to ALMA, was very valuable for the young women. “What I wanted to pass on to the girls is to know how to identify opportunities and be brave enough to take them,” says Fabiola.<\/p>\n [\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][et_pb_row column_structure=”1_2,1_2″ _builder_version=”4.19.1″ _module_preset=”default” min_height=”143.8px” custom_margin=”|auto|6px|auto|false|false” custom_padding=”||1px|||” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_column type=”1_2″ _builder_version=”4.17.4″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_text admin_label=”Text” _builder_version=”4.19.1″ _module_preset=”default” text_text_color=”#000000″ text_orientation=”left” custom_padding=”||0px||false|false” global_colors_info=”{}”]<\/p>\n Her colleagues at ALMA supported her all the way: “Our team is willing and happy to participate in all those initiatives that are focused on contributing to diversity and gender balance in the area.
