These principles are the basis of the framework of behaviour that applies to all of us who work at ALMA JAO, and which we include in our Code of Ethics and Conduct. <\/p>\n

To ensure that this Code is complied with, we have several Points of Contact who are always available to guide and respond to any request from a member of staff. In this role, Fabiola defends the purpose of the Code of Ethics and Conduct: “In a work group there must be an atmosphere of trust and respect, with a clear space for behaviour, and I believe that this code helps to set the guidelines for conduct”.[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][et_pb_row column_structure=”2_3,1_3″ _builder_version=”4.19.1″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}” theme_builder_area=”post_content”][et_pb_column type=”2_3″ _builder_version=”4.19.1″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}” theme_builder_area=”post_content”][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.19.1″ _module_preset=”default” text_text_color=”#000000″ text_orientation=”justified” global_colors_info=”{}” theme_builder_area=”post_content”]Jos\u00e9 Luis Corro, our Power Team Operator<\/strong>, agrees, and believes that for the whole observatory “it is important to have clear behavioural guidelines, what we should and should not do, and why, in our work and behaviour”.<\/p>\n

The role they play as Points of Contact is fundamental for us, as Jos\u00e9 has been able to confirm in his own experience: “It was very gratifying to be able to help and guide in the cases I have had. When exposed to a situation, a person expects you to simply listen, without being judged, in a safe place. At that moment I appreciate the trust, feeling closer to them,” says Ann Edmunds, our ALMA Director’s office coordinator and DSO Senior assistant<\/strong>. <\/p>\n

In that role, Ann is grateful to be a point of assistance, reaffirming the need for a Code of Ethics and Conduct. “I believe that its implementation helps us to feel protected and welcomed, as well as helping to generate a better coexistence and working environment,” she concludes.
