With the implementation of Business-to-Business (B2B) integration in Microsoft 365, JAO, NRAO, and ESO are taking a concrete step toward smoother collaboration between organizations. The idea is simple: work together using your own accounts, without losing control over internal information.
What changes in your day-to-day work?
You can now invite external collaborators to shared Teams channels and work directly on Word, Excel, or PowerPoint documents from there. Fewer back-and-forth emails, fewer duplicate versions, more real-time collaboration.
You define the access permissions: who can view, edit, or share each document. Everything is logged—conversations and versions—and the information remains protected under IT team policies.
And with NAOJ?
With NAOJ, B2B integration is not available, but collaboration is still possible via OneDrive: an invitation link is sent, the user logs in as a guest, and can view or edit according to the defined permissions. If the guest has their own Microsoft 365 account and has trouble logging in, we recommend opening the link in an incognito window.
